This has to be the funniest day ever in terms of politics.
Rick Perry thinks that ‘Americans deserve a President that doesn’t apologize for the USA anywhere in the world – one that loves America’. And that this lovely America should be more like China and not have an independent central bank. His bashing of Bernanke, threatening him in case he prints more money, is frankly speaking, hilarious.
So, someone that loves America would prevent its central bank from doing its job, especially if that managed to turn the economy around for your beloved country and make a President that was elected by Americans seem successful? It really does seem like Perry is appealing to idiocy here… I won’t really dwell more on this, Bloomberg View already has done a good job of exploring the depths of the mental hollow that these comments came from.
I’d just want to round up by voicing my support for Perry. If he gets elected, and enacts his policies, he surely could cause change in America. Whether that is of the catastrophic sort that everyone loves chiding Japan for, or of the statistical sort he has touted in Texas remains to be seen, but surely Americans will have change nonetheless. The most important question is whether there will be any left in their pockets though…
